Suleyman Salim Gao, known by his stage name Platform Tz (or simply Platform), is a Tanzanian singer-songwriter, actor, dancer, and entrepreneur. Raised in the historic coastal city of Tanga, he discovered a passion for music and performing arts early and later established himself within the dynamic Bongo Flava genre, a blend of pop, hip-hop, Afro-pop, and traditional rhythms. Platform rose to prominence with his breakout single “Smash,” and solidified his place in the industry with popular tracks including “Vitamu,” “Fall” (featuring Marioo), “Ananipenda,” “Wololo,” and “Zoba” (with Abigail Chams). His debut EP, "Above & Beyond," featuring collaborations with Darassa, Maua Sama, Tommy Flavour, and others, blends Bongo Flava with Afro-pop and reggaeton influences, reflecting his stylistic diversity. As of mid-2025, Platform’s discography spans numerous singles and EPs, including standout tracks like “Nileweshe”, “Mapepe”, and “Wivu.” In addition to songwriting and performance, he is an actor and dancer, and manages business ventures tied to entertainment and promotion, showcasing his multifaceted presence in Tanzania’s creative landscape.
